Capcom Announces Ultra Street Fighter 4 Invitational at E3

It seems Nintendo isn't the only company with big E3 plans for fighting games. Capcom has announced that they will be running a special 8 man invitational tournament to celebrate the release of Ultra Street Fighter IV alongside their Capcom Pro Tour event at E3.

The eight players are as follows:

  • EG Justin Wong
  • EG K-Brad
  • EG Ricky Ortiz
  • EG PR Balrog
  • YBK Jayce the Ace
  • Level|Up Alex Valle

These six will be joined by two mystery Japanese players being flown out by Twitch to compete on a "special eSports stage" being constructed just for E3 by Capcom. This tournament should be a great indicator of what the pros can do with the new expansion to Street Fighter 4 after a week of retail practice. $3,000 will be up for grabs.

We'll be reporting on this invitational alongside the Capcom Pro Tour, so be sure to look out for our recap.
